Job description

Position Summary

Do you enjoy turning ideas into real products? Are you curious about how furniture is designed, engineered, and manufactured? Do you like working through details, solving practical problems, and seeing your work move from a 3D model to the production floor?

Bold+ is hiring a Product Engineer to own assigned product engineering work from concept through production release. This role will develop accurate, manufacturable furniture solutions by coordinating design intent, technical documentation, materials, hardware, BOMs, suppliers, purchasing, and production requirements.

This role requires strong attention to detail, practical problem-solving, and the ability to help turn customer requirements and design intent into accurate, manufacturable products.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Product Engineer at Bold+, you will own assigned product engineering work from concept through production release. You will work across product development, product design, project management, purchasing, suppliers, and manufacturing to develop accurate, buildable furniture solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Own assigned engineering packages from concept through production release
  • Develop and review 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation
  • Partner with product design to translate design concepts into manufacturable furniture solutions
  • Define materials, hardware, construction details, tolerances, and drawing requirements appropriate to the product and manufacturing process
  • Evaluate designs for manufacturability, assembly, cost, material usage, and production efficiencies
  • Support modular power integration, supplier coordination, and fit-up within furniture products
  • Coordinate with production, purchasing, and suppliers to resolve technical questions and improve product documentation
  • Support product development for tables, case goods, work surfaces, storage, and related furniture products
  • Help improve CAD standards, drawing standards, engineering documentation, and product development processes
  • Support product release readiness by ensuring models, drawings, BOMs, and documentation are complete and accurate
Who You Are

Detail-oriented, mechanically minded, and interested in how products are designed, engineered, and manufactured. You enjoy solving practical problems

and working through the details that turn a design concept into a real product.

You are someone who:

  • Has strong mechanical aptitude and sound product engineering judgment
  • Takes ownership of assigned engineering work and follows through on details
  • Understands how design decisions affect manufacturing, assembly, cost, and product quality
  • Communicates well with engineering, design, project management, purchasing, suppliers, and production teams
  • Can balance customer requirements, design intent, manufacturing capability, and schedule pressure
  • Can manage multiple tasks while staying organized and accurate
  • Enjoy working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Product Design, Engineering Technology, Drafting, Industrial Design, or a related technical field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in product design and engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to independently create and review 3D models, assemblies, drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation
  • Working knowledge of CAD software; experience with SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor preferred
  • Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, assemblies, and product construction
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
  • Ability to make sound engineering recommendations related to materials, construction, hardware, and manufacturability
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in models, drawings, BOMs, and documentation
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a manufacturing environment
  Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience with custom furniture, contract furniture, cabinetry, millwork, case goods, or related manufactured products
  • Working knowledge of wood products, laminate, veneer, metal, hardware, fasteners, and common furniture construction methods
  • Experience with BOM accuracy, part numbers, revisions, ERP systems, or documentation control
  • Experience with design for manufacturability, assembly methods, tolerances, fasteners, joinery, or product fit-up
  • Experience with modular power systems, power/data components, or furniture electrical coordination
  • Experience working directly with production, shop floor teams, suppliers, or manufacturing support activities
