This role focuses on executing troubleshooting tasks, assisting with on-site support, and contributing to projects that improve system reliability and customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Technical Service Manager, the Engineer in Charge works directly with field teams to address technical issues, perform system checks, and follow established procedures for issue resolution. This position is an opportunity to develop technical expertise and grow into more advanced responsibilities through hands-on work and collaboration with senior engineers.

  • Lead escalated technical issues using structured troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and established diagnostic methods to identify and resolve failures.
  • Own and support 8D reports by collecting data, documenting findings, defining root cause, implementing corrective actions, and tracking recurring issues and trends.
  • Execute engineering change management projects, system continuous improvement projects, and field implementations, including risk reduction activities and documentation updates.
  • Analyze tool and fleet performance data to identify recurring failures, weak signals, and improvement opportunities. Support KPI tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and high-quality documentation including system configurations, procedures, known issues, corrective actions, and resolution records.
  • Support and participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities for hardware and system changes to identify and reduce operational risk before failures occur.
  • Track high-priority tools, recurring technical issues, and First of a Kind (FOK) systems until stable operation is achieved. Escalate issues as needed.
  • Deliver After Action Reports with documented lessons learned, corrective actions, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Follow established safety, compliance, and operational procedures during all field and customer site activities.
  • Participate in readiness exercises and assist with emergency response support activities as directed.
