RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Software Engineer Team Leader (Remote) in Birmingham, AL.
Summary:
Our client is seeking multiple Software Engineer Team Leads to support a major security remediation initiative. This role combines technical leadership, mentoring, project coordination, and hands-on software engineering. The ideal candidate is a senior .NET engineer with a cybersecurity mindset who understands application vulnerabilities, development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and remediation efforts-and can help drive issues through resolution. This position is approximately 75% technical leadership, mentoring, organization, and project guidance and 25% hands-on engineering.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and coordinate technical work across multiple development teams
* Mentor engineers and provide technical direction, guidance, and support
* Help organize priorities, workstreams, dependencies, and project execution
* Investigate application and source-code vulnerabilities and help drive remediation through completion
* Understand software development practices, CI/CD pipelines, application troubleshooting, and security concerns
* Partner with technology and product teams to communicate priorities, issues, dependencies, and progress
* Provide hands-on technical support and development when needed
* Help troubleshoot application and deployment issues across on-premises and cloud environments
* Support security hardening and remediation efforts across customer-facing digital applications
* Serve as a technical liaison between engineering teams and project/product stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
* Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET
* Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or project/workstream guidance
* Experience working across multiple teams and coordinating technical work
* Strong understanding of software development and CI/CD pipelines
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Ability to troubleshoot applications and understand security vulnerabilities and remediation
* Ability to balance technical leadership with hands-on engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with application security, cybersecurity, vulnerability remediation, or security hardening
* Stronger hands-on experience with Harness, OpenShift, and Kubernetes
* Experience with React
* Experience supporting on-premises/cloud hybrid environments
* Experience in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environments
Ideal Candidate:
The strongest candidate will be a senior .NET engineer who has moved into a technical lead role and brings cybersecurity experience or a strong understanding of application security. They should be comfortable leading people and organizing work while still being capable of jumping into the code, troubleshooting deployments, and helping solve technical problems.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
