Job description

Position Summary

Device Repair Technicians use small hand tools, power tools and microscopes to inspect, repair and refurbish medical devices, such as flexible endoscopes. As a Repair Technician, you will also perform subassembly. This role delivers superior Customer Experience by providing timely and quality repairs to meet compliance standards, as part of a high performing team.

This role will be based in our Chesterfield, MO Repair Lab, where you will have a dedicated work bench.

No previous medical repair experience required!We will train you.

Transferable experience may include hands-on repair, assembly, or product testing. Other transferable experience might include small engine repair, cell phone and electronics repair/ testing/ re-builds, carpentry, circuit board assembly/repair, industrial sewing, jewelry repair, maintenance, construction, and automotive repair.

What you will do as a Repair Technician
  • Performbasic to intermediate level repairs of surgical devices and equipment to specifications.

  • Identifyproblems and usestandardized testing procedures,examineand testmechanisms for defects, replaceor repairdefective parts.

  • Troubleshoot, reassemblesurgical devices and tests assembly for conformance to specifications.

  • Identifyrisks and issues and escalatetimely and effectively.

  • Adhereto Standard Work Instructions (SWI).Become aware of and conformto Company ISO goals and objectives and supportISO requirements.

  • Completeworkplace organization audits and safety observationsper site requirements.

  • Abideby all Company safety, health policies, and procedures. Usepersonal protective equipment, as required.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of work experience, including at least 1 year of relevant experience, or 1 year of experience at STERIS; all experience must be verifiable.

  • Relevant experience may include hands-on repair, assembly, or product testing. Other transferable experience might include small engine repair, cell phone and electronics repair/ testing/ re-builds, carpentry, circuit board assembly/repair, industrial sewing, jewelry repair, maintenance, construction, and automotive repair.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and push instrument carts ranging from 10-150 pounds at times.

  • Must be able to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours and sometimes outside normal business hours including evenings and weekends, based on Customer and business needs.

  • Related certifications in technical or mechanical area, competitive equipment training or related military experience may be considered towards experience requirement.

Preferred:

  • Experience with solder, brazing or other fine mechanical applications.

  • Vocational / Technical Degree.

  • Certifications in technical training.

Pay rate for this opportunity is $21.50. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
