Key Responsibilities
  • Develop physics‑based modeling and simulation environments for a variety of electrical, thermal, and mechanical systems.
  • Develop FEA or CFD simulations of critical components and structures to optimize robustness and cost.
  • Conduct product architecture trade studies and optimization to maximize performance and minimize cost.
  • Integrate cost, weight, and specification data of components, systems, and renewable energy fuels into simulation models for techno‑economic analysis.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to characterize components and systems in a simulation environment and communicate analysis results.
  • Utilize DOE, optimization methods, and data‑driven modeling and analysis tools.
  • Use models and simulation platforms to verify and validate controls software.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in systems simulation.
  • Knowledge of multi‑physics modeling software (e.g., Simulink, Simscape, SimcenterAmesim, GTSuite) or experience with CFD software.
  • Proficient in HIL, MIL, and/or SIL simulation platforms.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy systems including solar, wind, power, or power distribution concepts.
  • Demonstrated implementation of real‑world power generation and distribution problems into complex modeling and simulation platforms.
  • Demonstrated development and implementation of modular component models with scalable flexibility.
  • Experience with machine learning models generated from data (a plus).
  • Experience developing SIL, MIL, and HIL platforms for verification and validation of controls software.
  • Experience with multi‑physics, CFD, or finite element analysis software for design.
  • Strong understanding of control systems, battery management, thermal system management, and energy management software.
  • Experience using version control for modeling and simulation (e.g., Git).
  • PhD in electrical or mechanical engineering with demonstrated simulation experience, or a demonstrated engineering research background.
Travel & Work Conditions
  • Travel: 5‑10%
  • Work Schedule: 7AM – 5PM, Monday‑Friday, with flexibility to meet business needs.
  • Location: Menasha, WI (onsite, 3days per week).
