What We Are Looking For:

Join us as we help shape the future of energy! Weโ€™re seeking an Energy Resources Consultant to advise utilities, developers, and energy organizations on power supply strategy, energy markets, and distributed energy solutions. This role combines client engagement, business development, procurement advisory, and technical consulting to deliver impactful, data-driven solutions.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Embrace, uphold, and live out PSEโ€™s core values around People, Problem-Solving, and Progress.
  • Advise clients on power supply strategy and procurement, including RFP development, bid evaluation, contract analysis, and negotiation support
  • Conduct energy market analysis related to ISO/RTO participation, pricing trends, congestion, and risk exposure
  • Develop and support integrated resource planning (IRP) studies, including load forecasting, portfolio modeling, and scenario analysis
  • Perform financial and economic modeling to assess project feasibility, risk, and long-term value
  • Lead business case development and feasibility evaluations for distributed energy resources (DER), including battery energy storage systems (BESS) and virtual power plant (VPP) initiatives
  • Evaluate DER opportunities across capacity, resilience, and grid optimization use cases and present recommendations to leadership
  • Serve as an ownerโ€™s representative during procurement processes, including RFP coordination, technical reviews, and contract negotiations
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development and proposal efforts

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in engineering, economics, finance, energy systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of Experience in electric utility consulting, power supply planning, energy markets, or distributed energy project development.
  • Strong understanding of ISO/RTO market structures and wholesale energy market dynamics.
  • Experience with financial modeling, economic analysis, and resource planning methodologies.
  • Knowledge of DER technologies, including battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Knowledge and Skills

  • Familiarity with IRP modeling tools and advanced analytical software.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with data analytics tools such as Python or R is a plus .
  • Experience supporting RFP processes and contract negotiations .
  • Understanding of power purchase agreements (PPA) and energy service contract structures.

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $141,418 - $157,619 annually.

This salary range reflects the anticipated base salary for ten to fifteen years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's relevant years of experience, education, and technical expertise.
