Senior Project Manager (Repower)
Ready to play a key role in our repower projects?
In the role of Senior Project Manager (Repower), you'll be responsible for driving excellence across repower projects - from planning and budgeting to on-site execution and team leadership. You'll collaborate with skilled technicians, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure safety, quality, and performance on every turbine. This role reports into the VP of Repower.
  • Play an active role in all aspects of a project, from project conceptualization and work planning to project execution?
  • Provide project management and technical support for development and execution of wind energy repower projects?
  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements?
  • Create and maintain project schedules, identifying critical milestones and dependencies?
  • Monitor project progress and implement adjustments as necessary to ensure on-time completion?

Are You Ready to:
  • Mentor project managers and site leads to strengthen DWT's repower project capabilities.
    Engage clients directly to ensure expectations, budgets, and deliverables are clearly defined and achieved.
    Champion innovation and sustainability in repower strategies to optimize performance and ROI.
    Coordinate technical documentation, change orders, and field execution with precision and accountability.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource utilization to maximize project efficiency.
  • Proactively identify potential schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid project delays.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of equipment and services.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and prevailing wage/apprenticeship requirements throughout project execution.
  • Communicate project status, milestones, and risks effectively to stakeholders, addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly, including preparation of progress reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for project objectives.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, renewable energy, or construction management (preferred).
    8+ years of project leadership experience with focus on wind turbine repowering or large renewable projects.
    Strong understanding of turbine systems, mechanical/electrical upgrades, and compliance requirements.
    Proven ability to manage technical teams and large-scale project budgets.
    PMP certification or equivalent credentials preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proven experience managing large-scale wind energy projects, including repowering initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of wind energy technology, systems, and industry trends including the Inflation Reduction Act.
  • Strong project management skills, with proficiency in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and permitting processes related to renewable energy projects.
  • Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) are a plus.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and work in diverse environments as needed.

  • Financial Planning and Reporting in the areas of:
    Budget development and planning
    • Develop and manage project budgets across all phases: development, construction, commissioning, and operations
    • Forecast costs and revenues, ensuring alignment with financial models and business expectations.
    • Track expenditures and compare actuals against budget to identify variances and implement corrective actions.
    Cost Control & Risk Management
    • Monitor financial risks such as cost overruns, delays, and regulatory changes.
    • Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising safety or quality.
    • Conduct financial risk assessments and scenario planning to support decision-making.
    Contract & Procurement Oversight
    • Negotiate service agreements and scopes of work with suppliers and contractors
    • Manage purchase orders and ensure financial terms are met.
    • Oversee change orders and their financial implications throughout the project.
    Financial Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
    • Prepare financial reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
    • Present financial performance updates to the leadership
• Ensure transparency and accuracy in all financial communications
