What We Are Looking For:

We’re seeking a Project Manager – Renewable Energy to lead strategic energy projects from early-stage origination and feasibility through design, procurement, construction, and project closeout. If you bring a strong engineering foundation, hands-on project delivery experience, and a passion for renewable energy, this is an opportunity to make an impact on complex projects while working alongside talented engineers, clients, contractors, and industry partners. This position is hybrid out of our Madison, WI office.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead project management for strategic renewable energy projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from origination and feasibility through design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
  • Manage engineering and design projects, coordinating electrical, civil, and structural disciplines to deliver successful, turnkey solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication, alignment on expectations, and a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate internal and external teams, including engineers, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and resource plans to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • Apply project management tools, methodologies, and best practices to effectively manage scope, cost, schedule, resources, and risk.
  • Support procurement and contracting activities, including RFP development, bid evaluations, and contractor coordination.
  • Provide technical project oversight and apply knowledge of renewable energy systems, including solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids, and related energy infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with construction teams and understand construction sequencing, constructability, and field coordination requirements.

 

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in project management, engineering, or project delivery within the energy, infrastructure, or renewable energy industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing engineering design projects and/or energy infrastructure projects; experience with solar, BESS, or microgrids is preferred.
  • Experience working in a consulting, utility, developer, or EPC environment is highly preferred.
  • PMP certification is preferred but not required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.


Knowledge and Skills 

  • Strong understanding of project management principles, tools, and methodologies, including scheduling, budgeting, resource planning, and risk management.
  • Technical understanding of renewable energy systems and infrastructure, including solar PV, BESS, microgrids, and grid interconnection.
  • Working knowledge of construction processes, sequencing, constructability, and coordination for infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with clients, engineers, contractors, and internal teams.



Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $125,262 - $160,742 annually. 

 

This salary range reflects the anticipated base salary for eight to twenty. The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's relevant years of experience, education, and technical expertise.
