Job Description:
Withum's Auditing and Attest Engagement services are the cornerstone of our firm. Withum's audit and advisory team possess the expertise necessary to give stakeholders confidence in financial information. This team provides audit services, review and compilation services and other agreed upon audit procedures to a variety of client sizes and industries.

How You'll Spend Your Time:
  • Managing client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, reviewing, supervising engagement team, and completing audit engagements while effectively controlling time and expenses and providing world-class client service
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and the conclusion
  • Collaborating with engagement team seniors or supervisors and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for any legal, regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement
  • Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
  • Creating and tracking engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies that may arise during the audit
  • Demonstrating thorough knowledge and proficiency in advanced technical skills necessary for advising clients
  • Recognizing complex technical issues, using strategic decision-making skills to reach appropriate conclusions
  • Complying with pronouncements of professional and other regulatory groups and teaching the impact of such pronouncements to staff
  • Developing potential referral sources to bring new business to the firm and involvement in community activities for the purposes of business development and cross selling the firm's services
  • Expanding industry expertise and staying abreast of industry news; contributing to staff and senior development by sharing industry knowledge
  • Participating in mentoring, training, recruiting, retention and team-building activities
  • Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader

The Kind of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting, advanced degree preferable
  • CPA certification required; other professional certification relevant to specialized services areas a plus
  • 5+ years of audit and upstream oil & gas experience required
  • A combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred; SEC experience is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and auditing standards
  • Must maintain required CPE credits annually
  • Ability to effectively use Prosystem Fx Engagement and Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, experience with DAS a plus
  • Excellent supervisory, organizational, problem solving, written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent project management and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
