Job Summary:
As a Field Energy Sales Representative, you will be the face of Housebuildr in the community, helping homeowners transition to solar energy and energy-efficient home improvements. You’ll conduct in-home consultations, educate customers on cost-saving solutions, and close deals that benefit both the client and the company. This role is perfect for a self-motivated closer with a passion for sustainability and a knack for consultative sales.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prospecting & Lead Generation:

    • Generate leads through door-to-door canvassing, local events, referrals, and warm leadsfrom marketing campaigns.
    • Build relationships with homeowners, contractors, and real estate agents to expand opportunities.
  2. In-Home Consultations & Sales Presentations:

    • Conduct energy assessments to evaluate solar potential (e.g., roof suitability, energy usage).
    • Present customized solar and home improvement solutions (e.g., solar panels, battery storage, energy-efficient HVAC, roofing, or insulation).
    • Explain financing options (leases, loans, PPA) and incentives (tax credits, rebates).
  3. Closing Deals & Pipeline Management:

    • Meet or exceed monthly/quarterly sales targets.
    • Use CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) to track leads, follow-ups, and contracts.
    • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth project handoffs.
  4. Customer Education & Trust Building:

    • Address objections and educate homeowners on long-term savings, ROI, and environmental benefits.
    • Provide exceptional post-sale support to encourage referrals and repeat business.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience:

    • 2+ years in field sales (solar, home improvement, roofing, HVAC, or D2D sales preferred).
    • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales quotas.
  • Skills:

    • Strong closing ability – comfortable asking for the sale.
    • Tech-savvy – able to use iPads, CRM software, and solar proposal tools (e.g., Aurora, EnergyToolbase).
    • Basic knowledge of solar energy, electrical systems, or construction (training provided).
  • Personality Traits:

    • Self-driven, resilient, and adaptable (field sales can be challenging but rewarding).
    • Charismatic communicator – able to build trust quickly.
    • Passionate about sustainability and helping homeowners save money.

  • Competitive base salary + uncapped commission (OTE $80K–$150K+ for top performers).
