Position Description
Origis Energy is seeking an experienced Energy Analytics Manager / Nodal Production Cost Modeler to support strategic decision-making across our renewable energy portfolio. The candidate will apply advanced modeling to assess basis risk, congestion, curtailment, and long-term market value. This role collaborates closely with Grid Analysis, Interconnection, and Development teams.
The ideal candidate will lead market studies, review interconnection results, manage consultant work, and provide insights to optimize project economics. This includes evaluating policy and market changes, ensuring project assumptions remain current, and supporting project development, acquisitions, and portfolio strategy.
This position reports to the Senior Director Grid Analysis and is a full-time position with Origis' competitive benefits package, including health insurance, PTO, 401(k) with employer match, and more.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain production cost models to analyze market dynamics, congestion, curtailment, and basis risk.
  • Support project siting by coordinating with Grid Analysis and Interconnection teams to evaluate potential POIs.
  • Conduct economic studies for project vbility, revenue forecasting, and long-term value.
  • Build price forecasting models incorporating fundamentals, transmission, and load/generation scenarios.
  • Assess market rule changes, transmission upgrades, and retirements for project impacts.
  • Provide reports and presentations to leadership for strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with development, finance, and asset management to optimize portfolio performance.
  • Review interconnection study results and coordinate with BD, Dev, and Finance teams.
  • Support acquisitions through due diligence and fatal flaw analysis.
  • Represent Origis in industry forums, conferences, and regulatory discussions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with ISO/RTO stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Economics, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 7-10 years in energy market analysis, production cost modeling, or power system economics.
  • Hands-on expertise with PROMOD and PAT (5+ years)
  • Knowledge of power flow tools (PowerWorld, PSSE) and transmission fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of ISO/RTO markets, LMP pricing, and market operations
  • Strong familiarity with MISO & ERCOT markets preferred
  • Proven experience in basis risk, congestion, and curtailment analysis
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and statistical skills
  • Knowledge of solar, storage, and renewable energy technologies
