Job description

IS4S Opelika facility energetics operations support, executing DoD sponsored research contracts within the Opelika, AL area. Technical degree preferred but not required. BS/BA and 0-15 years experience desired. Position focuses on energetics research and prototyping including mixing, load-and-pack, and testing/characterization. Energetics handling experience strongly preferred. Experience in a range setting or laboratory environment preferred. Contract support requires authorization to work legally in the United States and may require a security clearance.

This position may include varied daily roles supporting projects, programs, and initiatives for both US Government and Commercial customers. Prototypes and products span Aviation, Missile Defense, Air defense, tactical missile systems, Army launchers, and counter UAS systems. The ideal candidate for this position possesses strong entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic.


You will work in a small team environment to support energetics and test range operations.

Desired skills:

  • Ability to perform manual, strenuous, or physical labor in outdoor setting
  • Experience in handling energetics materials
  • Experience in handling hazardous chemicals
  • Familiarity with ATF, DCMA, and other regulatory bodies
  • HAZMAT training / PPE usage
  • Ability to adhere to strict work instructions / SOPs
  • Test support (building fixtures, diagnostics, data acquisition)
  • Machine shop experience / hand tool usage
