Endo Technology specialists focus on endodontic procedures, utilizing advanced endodontic tools and techniques, often working in specialized clinics. Dental Assistants support general dental procedures, including assisting during various treatments, and work across a wider range of dental settings. While both roles require certification, Endo Technology professionals have specialized training in endodontics, making their roles more focused on root canal treatments and related procedures.

Are endo technology techs in demand?

Endo technology technicians are in demand due to the growing need for specialized dental and medical equipment maintenance and support. They often require knowledge of dental imaging, sterilization procedures, and technical troubleshooting, making their skills valuable in healthcare settings with expanding technological needs.

How do I become an endo technology?

To become an endo technologist, you typically need to complete a post-secondary education program in dental assisting, radiology, or a related field, and obtain certification or licensure if required in your region. Gaining experience with dental imaging equipment and procedures, along with strong attention to detail and technical skills, is essential for this role.

What does an endo technology do?

An endo technologist assists in dental procedures involving endodontics, such as root canals, by preparing and sterilizing instruments, taking X-rays, and supporting the dentist during treatments. They often operate dental equipment, manage patient records, and ensure infection control protocols are followed. Certification or training in dental assisting or endodontic procedures is typically required.
