To thrive as an Endo Assistant, you need a solid understanding of dental procedures, infection control, and dental anatomy, typically supported by a dental assisting certification. Familiarity with dental radiography equipment, digital charting systems, and sterilization tools is also important. These competencies are essential to support endodontists efficiently, maintain patient safety, and ensure smooth workflow in a specialized dental environment.

What is an endo assistant?

Endo Assistants, also known as endodontic assistants, are dental professionals who assist endodontists during procedures related to the diagnosis and treatment of issues inside the tooth, such as root canal therapy. Their duties include preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, assisting with patient care, taking dental X-rays, and maintaining patient records. Endo Assistants play a critical role in ensuring procedures are efficient, safe, and comfortable for patients. They also educate patients about post-procedure care and help manage dental equipment and supplies.

What are the daily responsibilities of an endo assistant?

As an Endo Assistant, your daily duties often include preparing treatment rooms for endodontic procedures, assisting the endodontist during root canals and other treatments, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit. You may also be responsible for taking dental radiographs, updating patient records, and handling administrative tasks like scheduling and billing. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Job description

We are seeking an Endodontist to work 1 day/week. The infrastructure is already in place: full patient base/schedule provided, trained assistants, and all equipment, including a microscope. If you are looking to add 1 day/week to your schedule, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

This is a 1099 position offering a high daily guarantee in a production model, whichever is greater. A dedicated endo room/cart, microscope, cone beam CBCT, and trained endo assistants will be provided. This is a full‑scope endodontics opportunity with no overhead costs to the provider and schedule that can be easily filled with patients.

Here are some key features to consider about this position:

  • 1099 position
  • Daily guarantee ($1,500) + 42% production (both negotiable)
  • Full day schedule and patients provided (in‑house)
  • Flexible 1 day/week, though ideally Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday
Why should you consider this position?

A 1-day-per-week endodontic position in St. Augustine offers an ideal blend of flexibility, efficiency, and earning potential for a specialist looking to expand their schedule without a full-time commitment. With all equipment provided, there is no upfront investment or operational burden. This allows you to focus entirely on patient care and production from day one. The 1099 structure provides autonomy and scheduling flexibility, making it a strong option for supplementing an existing practice or exploring a new market. Most importantly, having in-house patients and established referrals creates immediate case volume, eliminating the need to build a referral base and creating a streamlined path to consistent, high-value production in a desirable coastal market.
