Job Title: Bottling Line / Label Operator

Location: Bakersfield, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $18.00–$20.00 per hour (Temporary Assignment) | Pay increase upon successful hire with client

Position Overview

Legacy Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bottling Line / Label Operator on behalf of a manufacturing client. This position is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining automated bottling and labeling equipment to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous production of high-quality bottled products. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment. 

Key Responsibilities Production Operations
  • Operate and monitor bottling and labeling equipment to maintain consistent production flow.
  • Ensure labeling equipment runs efficiently throughout the shift. 
  • Monitor coding systems to verify product coding is accurate and legible.
  • Perform routine quality inspections to verify packaging, labeling, and product specifications. 
  • Remove jams and clear equipment obstructions when necessary. 
Equipment Setup & Maintenance
  • Conduct pre-start inspections, in-process checks, and end-of-shift reporting. 
  • Perform product and package size changeovers according to established procedures. 
  • Identify equipment issues and communicate concerns to supervisors or maintenance personnel. 
  • Make minor machine adjustments to support efficient operation. 
Material Handling & Documentation
  • Replenish packaging materials, labels, adhesives, film, cartons, and related supplies.
  • Load materials into feeders, hoppers, and production equipment as needed. 
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately and on time. 
Quality & Safety
  • Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with GMP and safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance, quality, and production teams to resolve issues quickly. 
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Minimum one (1) year of manufacturing or bottling experience preferred. 
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot automated production equipment. 
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. 
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, and workplace safety standards. 
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control. 
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills. 
  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to following procedures. 
  • Ability to identify and communicate equipment or process concerns. 
  • Reliable attendance and consistent work performance. 
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally. 
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment and production machinery.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, wet floors, varying temperatures, and cleaning chemicals. 
  • Rotating shifts required; candidates will likely begin on first shift.
  • Overtime may be required based on production demands.
Required PPE
  • Steel-toed or composite-toe safety shoes required.
  • Hard hat required in designated production areas.
  • Hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, and other required PPE must be worn at all times.
