Get to Know Your Team:
- Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital, and is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue. PMC has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence recognized surgeons, imaging, primary and specialty care.
Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with the RN and LPN to support the delivery of care in a safe patient environment that promotes caring and healing.
- Contributes to the assessment of patient’s health status by collecting, recording, and reporting objective and subjective data. Timely, consistently, and accurately documents all patient interactions.
- Obtain and record patients' vital signs.
- Monitor patients and report patients’ condition and promptly report any signs or symptoms of concern to appropriate party.
- Works effectively with providers and patients to schedule surgeries, imaging, lab, etc. Completes pre-authorization for all procedures or testing to ensure effective reimbursement.
- Answers phones and responds to messages in a timely manner. Communicates and interacts with all customers, (patients, visitors, co-workers, administrative staff, and physicians), in a positive and supportive manner.
- Demonstrates efficiency and dependability with assigned job responsibilities and cross-trains, as appropriate, to assist other staff members in their job duties.
- Ensure accurate documentation of observations and interventions in the medical record.
- Assist in preparing and stripping rooms as needed.
- Perform direct and indirect patient care duties as assigned and may provide clerical support to assigned department.
- Maintain department records and orders/stocks routine supplies for the department.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current Idaho Certified Nursing Assistant certification or National or Idaho EMT licensure.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of medical terminology.
- One year of experience in acute or long-term care.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current Idaho Certified Nursing Assistant certification or National or Idaho EMT licensure.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
