We are excited to announce an opportunity for an EMS Medical Director to become part of our expanding team in Bloomington, Indiana, and its surrounding areas. This position is situated at our state-of-the-art facility, IU Health Bloomington Hospital, located on the Indiana University Regional Academic Health Center campus, serving an extensive 11-county region.

Position Overview

This role allows you to practice across various locations, each providing a unique clinical atmosphere and pace. This flexibility enables you to tailor your career interests while ensuring professional growth and diversity in your work experience.

  • Shift Details:
    • At IU Health Bloomington Hospital and IU Health Bedford Hospital, you will work 9-hour shifts, promoting a balanced and efficient workflow in high-acuity, resource-rich environments.
    • IU Health Morgan Hospital and IU Health Paoli Hospital, both critical access facilities, offer 12-hour shifts, ideal for those who appreciate a broader scope of practice, autonomy, and community-oriented care.
  • EMS Medical Director Responsibilities: 520 hours annually, complemented by 1040 hours of clinical Emergency Medicine time.
  • Schedule: Monthly shifts vary, totaling 87 hours per month, with the flexibility to create a schedule that fits your lifestyle while gaining exposure to diverse patient populations and practice models.
  • Future Opportunities: An Emergency Medicine residency program is set to launch in the summer of 2026, enhancing our academic mission.
Qualifications
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Emergency Medicine is required.
