Job description

SUMMARY
Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings. Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform janitorial/custodial services as assigned based on the schedule provided by the COR.
  • Empty trash cans, sweep and mop floors, dust furniture and equipment, clean windows.
  • Inspect and clean or replace HVAC filters.
  • Ensure that the fire alarm system is maintained and operable at all times except while being tested or repaired.
  • Complete all planned maintenance on identified storage bunker doors at EL Toro range facility annually.
  • Operate a mower and string trimmer for ground maintenance.
  • Inspect and clean all roof gutters, drains, and downspouts. Cleaning shall include removal of all bird nests, cobwebs, beehives, wasp nests, vegetation, leaves, debris, and all other obstructions that constricts flow to and through roof gutters, drains, and downspouts.
  • Replace all loose, displaced, broken, or missing strainers. Re-secure and fasten all loose gutters and downspouts in conjunction with inspection and cleaning.
  • Maintain all surfaced areas such as (but not limited to) asphalt and concrete roadways, driveways, parking lots, open storage areas, athletic surfaces, jogging/bicycle paths, sidewalks, etc.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

None.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience in one or more of the building trades.
  • Practical skills and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work required.
  • Must be able to use hand power tools.
  • Must have knowledge of carpentry, painting, and electrical systems.
  • Two (2) years' experience in maintenance services.
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Must be able to work effectively within a team.
  • Basic computer skills and can learn new systems.
  • Ability to prioritize task and manage time to meet deadlines.

WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.
TRAVEL
Potential for travel. When required, employee will need to complete an MVR check.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver's license and be insurable on the company's automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 10%.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is primarily performed outdoors but may also be performed in a maintenance facility as well as in outdoor military training areas. Work is often performed in adverse conditions including inclement weather such as high humidity, heat, cold, high wind, rain, and various local conditions. Our mission is to train US Marines; therefore, we work side by side with them in all climates and conditions. Employee may be exposed to sharp objects and may be exposed to some heat, loud noise, chemicals, lead, and vibration. Katmai strictly adheres to the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) regulations. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory if applicable. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position consists of standing for long periods of time, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for handling, to work with such hand tools as lawn equipment, outdoor tools, shovels, wrenches, screwdrivers, wire cutters, pliers, and soldering irons. Seeing up close.   • Pay is: $25.14/hour
  • SCA Health & Welfare Fringe: $5.09/hr paid toward employee-only medical insurance. Any remainder paid in cash in bi-weekly paycheck.
