Job description

Seasonal Yard Operations Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities-

  • Prepare orders for customers, ensuring that the order is picked correctly and timely. Packages orders so they are safe for transport.
  • Loads and unloads inbound and outbound trucks with forklift and by hand.
  • Receives inbound freight, checking for correctness. Places stock and customer orders in the proper location in warehouse and yard. Labels inbound stock.
  • Assists the team with keeping the yard/warehouse clean, safe, and organized.
  • Assists management with inventory control.
  • Completes all assigned tasks given by management.

  • Dependability. Follow instructions and respond to management direction. Keeps commitments and takes responsibility for own actions. Completes tasks on time.
  • Quality. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. Monitors own work to ensure quality. Customer service oriented.

Work Environment-

  • Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the yard, temporary cracks may appear in the floor/ground, causing uneven walking surfaces.
  • The yard environment can be dusty, noisy, hot, and cold.
  • May have to handle merchandise and working tools with sharp edges.
  • Passing forklifts that emit gas fumes.

Work Schedule-

  • Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week. At times, overtime may be required but is not guaranteed.
  • Perfect job for a college student or someone that wants off during the colder months.
  • Minimum $20/hour.
