EMG Technician โ€“ South Texas

Primary Locations: Laredo, TX & Mc Allen, TX
Department: Clinical Services
Reports To: Clinical Manager / Supervising Neurologist

Job Summary

The EMG Technician performs electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction velocity (NCV) testing under physician supervision, providing high-quality diagnostic testing while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and compliance with clinical standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Technical Duties
  • Perform EMG and NCV studies under neurologist supervision.
  • Prepare patients and explain procedures clearly and compassionately.
  • Assist physicians during EMG procedures.
  • Ensure proper electrode placement and signal quality.
  • Maintain and calibrate EMG equipment.

Patient Care
  • Provide reassurance and education to patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout testing.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Document procedures and findings accurately in the EHR.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic protocols.
  • Follow infection control and safety standards.
ย Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associateโ€™s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 1โ€“2 years of EMG/NCV experience preferred.
  • Strong technical and clinical aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in neurology or electrodiagnostic testing.
  • R. NCS.T. or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
