Neurodiagnostic Technology Specialty: Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Hours per Shift: Flex schedule - 7 PM - 7 AM, 7 AM - 7 PM, 3 - 12s Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing a variety of Sleep or Neurodiagnostic procedures if no graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology. License: Registry eligible for one of the following specialty areas: EEG (Electroencephalogram), EP (Evoked Potentials), Intra-Operative Monitoring, Nerve Conduction Velocity studies, Polysomnography, Registered Sleep Technologist, and BLS. Certifications: - Must-Have: - ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAM (EEG) - ELECTROMYOGRAPHY (EMG) - NERVE CONDUCTION VELOCITIES (NCV) - SENSORY EVOKED POTENTIALS (EP) - POLYSOMNOGRAPHIC TESTING Description: May provide instruction and guidance to other technologists in the Neurodiagnostic and/or Sleep Disorders Lab. Performs diagnostic patient testing including electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocities (NCV), sensory evoked potentials (EP), and polysomnographic testing with possible oxygen therapy and continuous positive air pressure treatments (CPAP). Performs room and equipment set-up and placement in hospital rooms, operating rooms, or clinics. Calibrates and maintains equipment. Reads and scores neurodiagnostic and/or polysomnographic tests. Takes patient histories. Instructs patients and families on test preparation, pre-test interviews, and follow-up appointments.
