Basic Job Functions:

Job Duties: Coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are aligned with our business goals and company's mission. Responsible for leading the efforts to continually improve our safety, quality, cost, reliability, productivity, profitability, and team member development of our division. Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks. Meet with internal clients to achieve project goals, expectations and clarify specific requirements of each project to assure projects are completed on time and within budget. Research, design, develop, or test automation, intelligent systems, smart devices, or industrial systems control. Design advanced precision equipment for accurate or controlled applications and engineering systems for the automation of industrial tasks. Meet with internal clients to achieve project goals, expectations and clarify specific requirements of each project to assure projects are completed on time and within budget. Monitor or calibrate automated systems, industrial control systems, or system components to maximize efficiency of production. Clearly communicate project tasks, scopes and duration. Clearly communicate project tasks, scopes and duration to teammates involved. Track project performance for the successful completion of short and long-term goals. Meet budgetary objectives. Responsible for programming, installation and technical support of PLC Based hardware and software. Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with team members and the managers. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

Requirements: Must have a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Electronic Engineering and three (3) years of experience in controls and automation engineering and maintenance in an industrial setting. Experience must include: Process control, automation and electrical engineering maintenance in a manufacturing environment; Designing, coding and troubleshooting plant automation and electrical control systems; Programming, installation and technical support utilizing Programming Logic Controllers (PLC) automation hardware and software tools, including Rockwell, Siemens and Emerson (DeltaV); Design and drafting experience utilizing AutoCAD for reviewing and drafting electrical schematics and panel drawings; Human-machine interface (HMI) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) programming for data visualization from PLCs and sensors. 10% domestic and international travel.
