Job description

| POSITION                                         Unpaid Support Desk Technician Intern (Up to 3 positions)
| LOCATION                                         D Russel Lee Building
| GENERAL DESCRIPTION             
The Support Desk Technician Intern will be one of the primary technicians for students' technology needs at D. Russel Lee and School of the Arts. Interns will:




  • respond to "tickets" generated either from walk-up requests or online through the ticketing system;
  • diagnose and recommend repairs; and
  • work on special technology-related assignments.

Students will be provided with Butler Tech shirts and a set of computer tools which they will be allowed to keep upon completion of their internship.
Interns will work between 8 and 20 hours a week. A schedule will be established at the start of the internship between the student, the counseling office, and IT staff.
Internships run from September to April.
| QUALIFICATIONS





  • Current Fairfield Township Campus student in one of the following programs:
    • IT,
    • Engineering,
    • Digital/Emerging Media, or
    • Business;
  • At least 3 months of previous Support Desk Intern or related experience;
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking relevant to the position;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team;
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude;
  • Ability to provide customer service, document progress, organize, prioritize, problem-solve, think critically, and exercise professional judgement;
  • Satisfactory attendance and discipline record.
