Year-Round Lifeguard, Available Evenings & Weekends


Compensation: Hourly, Part-Time, less than 20 hours per week.

  • Weโ€™ll pay you an hourly rate of $17.00 to $18.00.

About the Job

We need you to fill the role of a Lifeguard. This is a Part Time, Non- Exempt position. Youโ€™ll wow us by masterfully performing the following key duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safety of pool patrons by preventing accidents and responding quickly to emergency situations.
  • Must follow and enforce pool policies and rules at all times.
  • Prevent injuries and minimize hazardous situations.
  • Always provides safety surveillance, including while walking around the facility.
  • Attend mandatory training and in-service meetings required by Shalom Austin.
  • Maintains life safety and rescue skills at rescue ready levels over the duration of employment.
  • Completes routine maintenance and assigned cleaning duties.
  • Maintains inventories and care for Shalom Austin property and equipment. Keeps supervisor informed of necessary materials and supplies for daily operations and to conduct programs.
  • Monitors and records safety checks in compliance with Shalom Austin, State, and local guidelines.
Requirements:
  • 1 year of lifeguarding experience preferred.
  • Pass all required criminal history background checks (which may, depending on the position you are hired for, include an FBI fingerprint check).
  • Adhere to our Mission, Core Values, and all HR policies and procedures.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age; and one (1) year customer service/public service experience required, with aquatic facility experience preferred.
  • Must possess or obtain before beginning work: American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid certification, Waterpark certification, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer certification, and Administering Emergency Oxygen certification.
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification is preferred.
