Skill Set : Embedded Cloud Engineer

Work Location : Framingham , MA

Duration :6 Months

Exp: 10+years

Responsibilities:

Software team is seeking a Cloud Engineer to expand their team. In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, and scalability of their cloud services. The ideal candidate will be comfortable choosing the appropriate technology underpinnings, defining the end-to-end architecture, configuring the full stack through DevOps techniques, managing the data, and working with other teams to ensure scalability and performance.

Required Skills and Experience:

BS in computer science or related field plus 4+ years of related experience

Strong hands-on coding and design skills, including DevOps techniques, performance testing and management, and data storage and processing

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team

NodeJS, Python, Java programming languages as well as Shell scripting

Relational Database (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational database (any of Cassandra, CouchDB, MongoDB, HBase) experience

Experience using and designing APIs using REST, XML, and JSON

Experience working within Amazon Web Services or OpenStack cloud deployment

Red Hat Linux and/or CentOS Linux and/or Fedora Linux

Infrastructure as Code with Software Automation Tools (Chef/Puppet/Ansible/Fabric/Boto/Terraform/Jenkins, etc)

Load balancing with open source software solutions (any of Haproxy, Varnish, IPVS/LVS, Nginx, etc.

Network protocol understanding (Layer 3-4: IP/TCP/UDP/ICMP, Layer 7: HTTP, DNS)

Highly Desirable Skills and Experience:

Experience developing embedded firmware using C/C++/Java

Hands on experience with commercial or personal IoT projects

Experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment

Familiarity developing virtual personal assistant (VPA) in products is a strong plus

Security experience - patch management, DDoS mitigation, intrusion detection
