The Resilient Communications software engineering organization is seeking Software Engineers focused on system software development for embedded devices and communication systems.
Engineers will contribute across the full software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, software design, development, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
The ideal candidates will have strong C++ software development experience, embedded systems knowledge, and experience working in Linux, VxWorks, or other real-time operating system environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop software for embedded devices and communication systems from requirements through production and support.
• Participate in requirements analysis, software design, implementation, integration, and formal testing.
• Develop and maintain object-oriented software using C++.
• Work with Linux, Windows, and embedded real-time operating systems.
• Perform high-performance and multi-threaded software development.
• Troubleshoot and debug software on embedded targets.
• Collaborate with systems, test, hardware, and program engineering teams.
• Participate in peer reviews and identify, track, and resolve software defects.
• Develop software test plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Support software integration and system-level testing.
• Contribute to technical proposals and government RFP responses when required.
• Support technically complex communications and embedded systems programs.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with relevant software engineering experience, or a Master's degree with relevant experience.
• Strong C++ development experience.
• Object-oriented software development experience.
• Embedded software development experience.
• Experience with Linux and/or VxWorks.
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Experience with high-performance and multi-threaded programming.
• Hands-on software development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
• Knowledge of programming languages, compilers, and application execution.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
• Department of Defense (DoD) program experience.
• Embedded systems design experience.
• Communications systems experience.
• Networking knowledge, including IP, TCP, UDP, and IPsec.
• Knowledge of signal processing or control systems.
• Strong software debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
• Experience working across the complete software development life cycle.
