Job description

Product Security Engineer (Lead)

Company:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Product Security Engineering (PSE) is seeking a Product Security Engineer (Lead) to join the 787 Airplane Programs PSE team in North Charleston, South Carolina. The selected candidate will be assigned and accountable to the 787 PSE Capability Leader. They will partner with the 787 PSE Capability leader, and be accountable to the Airplane Program Chief Project Engineer (CPE) and Director of Engineering (DoE) for the successful technical planning and performance of PSE for the 787 Airplane Programs, ensuring Engineering Excellence and first-time quality. They will provide overall technical guidance and direction to the 787 PSE teams, and will be the primary technical representative for PSE to the 787 Program.

The selected candidate will contribute to and execute upon our shared PSE vision and priorities for the delivery of safe, secure, and resilient commercial airplanes' products and the aviation ecosystem. This is accomplished through the successful technical planning and the technical leadership of the PSE workforce that delivers engineering excellence on behalf of the 787 program.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Principle technical Subject Matter Expert and Lead Engineer for all 787 Product Security Engineering related concerns, including the products, and production and factories
  • Provide technical leadership to assigned and deployed PSE teammates
  • Establish technical strategies, plans and proposals projects
  • Support the determination and characterization of PSE related work, roles, and responsibilities to meet requirements of 787 projects
  • Supporting the 787 PSE Leader in development of business and people plans
  • Exercise technical design reviews, establishing and validating assumptions to ensure engineering excellence across lifecycle of program
  • Technical stakeholder and member of 787 system, engineering, and program level change boards
  • Technical stakeholder and participant in 787 Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) and Safety Management Systems
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Deliver dependable, predictable, and consistent PSE to 787 Airplane Program leadership, that is integrated across the program lifecycle, including the security and resiliency of 787 production and factory

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 9+ years of related work experience in systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, electrical engineering, certification, product security
  • Experience coordinating and presenting technical content to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comprehensive understanding of airplane systems and networks

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in cybersecurity, security network architecture, embedded systems security, security testing and evaluation, network design
  • Comprehensive understanding of DO-326B, DO-356A, DO-355
  • 5+ years of related work experience in systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, electrical engineering, certification, product security
  • Technical leadership with a positive and curious mindset
  • Possess one or more security certifications, including but not limited to: CISSP; Security+; CEH; CCNA; UNIX/LINUX System Administration; GIAC GPEN, GWAPT, or GXPN; Offensive Security Certified Engineer (OSCE); Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
