Job title: Engineering Product Leader Geometry
Location: Anderson, SC, U.S.A, OPmobility Exterior USA LLC
Job duties: Analyze, perform and lead dimensional engineering including specification and validation of part tolerances; design and validation of checking fixtures; and measurement, verification, and validation of part dimensional measurements for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages, for exterior automotive component development programs for production of passenger vehicle exterior systems including bumpers, liftgates, fenders, wheel arches, and rocker panels at 4 U.S. & 3 Mexico plants. Serve as functional leader of Americas Region dimensional engineering team - two Geometry Engineers in Mexico, three Geometry Engineers in U.S. (each possessing bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering fields or related fields), providing general technical direction, coordinating engineering workload across programs, and supporting performance feedback.
Travel requirements: Required travel to OPmobility plants in Mexico (San Luis Potosi, Silao, and Ramos Arizpe) to address technical questions and validate metrology, part tolerances, measurement devices, and checking fixtures for exterior component programs, and train plant personnel in dimensional engineering methodologies and dimensional standards up to 4 weeks per year (equal to ~8% in annual travel).
Education: Bachelor, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related.
Experience: Twenty-four months' experience as Engineer or related, analyzing and performing dimensional engineering including specification and validation of part tolerances; design or validation of checking fixtures; and validation of part dimensional measurements for PPAP packages, for component development programs for production of passenger vehicle exterior systems bumpers and rocker panels, or related.
