About the Job You're Considering
Capgemini Engineering is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to support innovative autonomous vehicle and robotics programs with Autonomous Solutions Inc. (ASI). In this role, you will participate in the full software development lifecycle for embedded systems operating on unmanned robotic vehicles, helping deliver mission-critical software that enables autonomy, vehicle control, perception, and intelligent decision-making.
You will collaborate with systems, electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams to develop reliable, high-performance embedded applications that interact with sensors, actuators, communications networks, and control systems. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge autonomous technologies that are transforming transportation, robotics, industrial automation, and intelligent systems.
Your Role
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software applications for autonomous robotic vehicle platforms.
  • Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, implementation, testing, integration, and support.
  • Develop new software features and enhancements for vehicle control systems, programmable actuators, and perception sensors.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects while supporting fielded autonomous systems.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering teams to ensure successful software integration across hardware and vehicle subsystems.
  • Apply software engineering best practices including unit testing, integration testing, continuous refactoring, code reuse, and design pattern implementation.
  • Support system validation, simulation, and deployment activities while contributing to the long-term reliability and performance of autonomous platforms.

Your Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of professional experience developing embedded real-time software systems using C and C++ for embedded processors.
  • Strong experience designing and supporting large, multi-threaded embedded applications running on RTOS platforms.
  • Experience with embedded software development best practices including unit testing, integration testing, simulation, code refactoring, and version control systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems and hardware/software integration.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional engineering environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Device driver development and low-level embedded systems programming.
  • Experience working with autonomous or unmanned vehicle systems.
  • Knowledge of embedded flash programming tools and techniques.
  • Experience with communication protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, CAN, SPI, and RS232.
  • Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 and robotics software frameworks.
  • Experience integrating sensors such as GPS, LiDAR, RADAR, and ultrasonic systems.
  • Knowledge of control systems, robotics, and autonomous navigation technologies

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is:$73,150 - $124,000.
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.
The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
