Job description

Controls Engineer

Participate in the design, development, testing, and application of electronic control systems and components used in our fuel system products that are used in on-road and off-road equipment and vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in defining, designing, programming, and debugging a variety of testing solutions involving real-time control and data acquisition systems
  • Assist in the management of projects, both large and small, with cross-functional teams.
  • Use engineering knowledge and experience to continue to improve existing methods of product testing.
  • Design new products and/or apply variations of existing products, including pumps and engine control strategy development and testing.
  • Communicate task results and progress through oral and written presentations for internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of electronic hardware, including sensors, actuators, and motors.
  • Working knowledge of electronic test equipment and instrumentation, including digital oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to organize and plan work on small individual tasks.
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to begin to create electrical schematics and system block diagrams.
  • Basic ability and understanding of programming using either LabVIEW, PLC ladder logic, or other embedded control languages.
  • Experience with software controls and software development tools, preferably in an automotive environment.
  • Prior experience or willingness to learn electromechanical components, such as those used in gasoline or diesel fuel injection systems.

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of electrical engineering experience, electronic controls or product testing experience.
  • Preferred some experience in diesel fuel injection equipment and engine test and development.

Travel Requirements:

Possible travel to customers and suppliers, domestically and internationally.
