Description:

Hartzell Propeller is the leading manufacturer of aircraft propeller systems for general aviation, supplying propeller systems for aircraft manufacturers and modifiers around the world. Piqua is a community of 22,000, which offers a friendly, small-town atmosphere yet is still an easy drive to Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati.


General Machinist Responsibilities

The CNC Machinist is responsible to operate one or more machine tools or special purpose machines to machine metal parts to required specifications in a state of the art manufacturing facility.


Typical Machinist Job Activities

1) Run Standard operating procedures on multiple axis machines

2) Contact Manufacturing Services to troubleshoot process problems

3) Change perishable tooling when required

4) Install new tool holders

5) Follow set up instructions to set up CNC machines

6) Follow inspection plans to inspect parts

7) Communicate to co-workers on status of cell operations

8) Participate in continuous improvement activities

9) Troubleshoot tooling as required

10) Work holding (fixturing – chucking)

Requirements:

Machinist Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required; 1-3 years of experience
