Description

General Position Overviewย 

ย Responsible for the design, development, and testing of embedded software applications, including requirement and design reviews, code reviews, unit testing, deployment and documentation.

Essential Job Functionsย 

  • Demonstrates SoundOff Signal's Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers.ย 
  • Collaborate with broader cross-functional engineering team throughout firmware development lifecycle.ย 
  • Conduct feature analysis, development, debugging, and validation of firmware for various 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers.ย 
  • Participate in hardware design reviews and collaborate with hardware design engineers on design solutions.ย 
  • Train technical services and sales staff in the operation of new product introductions.ย 
  • Ensure documentation of design work is complete and compliant with ISO requirements.ย 
  • Solve problems and implement change notices using corrective actions and engineering change requests.ย 
  • Read and follow SoundOff Signal Work Instructions.ย 
  • Perform job consistently and without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.ย 
  • Other duties as assigned.ย 

Job Requirementsย 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering or Computer Science. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.ย 
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in embedded software development.ย 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).ย 
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.ย 
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.ย 
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.ย 
  • Proficiency in C/C++ย 
  • Development experience with Arm Cortex-M microcontrollers and tool chains, including compilers and debuggers.ย 
  • Experience with MCU peripherals (e.g. CAN, LIN, USB, I2C, SPI, etc.).ย 
  • Proficient in software, component, and interface design.ย 
  • Ability to test/debug firmware issues using oscilloscopes, multi-meters, debuggers, emulators/simulators, and logic analyzers.ย 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of unit testing and CI/CD pipeline.ย 
  • RTOS development experience preferred.ย 
  • Practical AI experience preferred.ย 

Physical Requirementsย 

  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs.ย 
  • Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift.ย 
  • Must be able to handle and work with small parts.ย 

Working Conditionsย 

  • Mostly office environment, occasional light manufacturing environment.ย 
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented environment.ย 
  • Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting.ย 
  • Some level of domestic and/or international travel may be required.ย
