A Philadelphia-based funeral services provider dedicated to serving families with compassion, dignity, professionalism, and personalized care during times of loss. The organization provides comprehensive funeral and mortuary services, including funeral arrangements, embalming and preparation, visitations, funeral ceremonies, burial, cremation, and after-care support.


Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Licensed Embalmer to join its Philadelphia team immediately. The ideal candidate will have strong embalming and restorative art experience, with the ability to prepare decedents of all ethnicities, including African American skin tone restoration and cosmetic presentation.


Responsibilities:


Clinical Preparation

  • Perform embalming, restoration, dressing, cosmetology, and casketing.
  • Prepare decedents according to family wishes and legal requirements.
  • Maintain natural appearance, proper skin tone matching, grooming, and presentation.
  • Complete embalming reports, intake documentation, and identification procedures.
  • Monitor decedent condition and maintain preparation room cleanliness and inventory.

Funeral Service

  • Meet with families and conduct funeral arrangements.
  • Coordinate visitations, viewings, funeral ceremonies, burials, and cremations.
  • Ensure compliance with FTC and Pennsylvania funeral regulations.
  • Provide compassionate aftercare support and guidance to families.
  • Coordinate with clergy, cemetery personnel, and funeral attendants.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Embalmer / Funeral Director (Pennsylvania preferred or eligible).
  • Experience performing embalming independently.
  • Strong restorative art and cosmetic reconstruction skills.
  • Knowledge of embalming and presentation of African American decedents.
  • Excellent communication and compassionate family service skills.
  • Ability to participate in removals and funeral services as needed.
