Copywriter – Beauty & Lifestyle

Location: Bolingbrook, IL
Work Arrangement: Remote
Duration: 3 months

Position Overview

The Copywriter will play a key role in delivering strong, consistent writing that reflects and elevates the brand voice. The role will partner with the team to execute copy across digital channels, with a focus on email, mobile push notifications, and landing pages.

The ideal candidate understands how language and tone vary by audience and channel and can pivot quickly. They should enjoy creating short, engaging copy that encourages guests to click while communicating beauty in fun, relevant, and relatable ways.

The candidate should also be highly aware of current culture, beauty, lifestyle, and trending voices.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Implement the Ulta Beauty brand identity and voice into every assignment.
  • Work within brand standards and consistently apply the Ulta Beauty voice to create a seamless and consistent guest experience across channels.
  • Contribute to editorial brainstorming sessions and ad hoc requests.
  • Provide suggestions and recommendations to improve cohesion in copy messaging and alignment across channels.
  • Balance multiple workstreams and prioritize deliverables while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Produce high-quality copy efficiently and turn around urgent assignments when needed.
  • Work closely with design counterparts to ensure continuity across digital touchpoints.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current trends, culture, design systems, and other editorial influences.
  • Remain responsive to changing business needs that support the overall brand.
  • Independently seek out information and solutions while recognizing when guidance is needed.
Job Requirements
  • 1–3 years of copywriting experience.
  • Comfortable working with Generative AI (GenAI).
  • Experience in agency, beauty, retail copywriting, or editorial is a plus.
  • Passion for Ulta Beauty, its products, and its guests.
  • Strong attention to detail with creative and innovative problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, critically, and creatively.
  • Action-oriented, self-starting, and highly motivated.
  • Ability to prioritize work and consistently drive results.
