Job description

POSITION:      NYS Certified Teacher for ELL Summer School 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • NYS Certification as a teacher currently teaching in one of the following districts:  Brockport, Churchville-Chili, Hilton, Kendall, Holley, and Wheatland-Chili desire to learn more about teaching ELL students in the regular classroom setting
  • Previous experience as a lead teacher for an ELL summer school preferred
  • Knowledge of NYS ELA Common Core Standards
  • Experience with guided reading instruction and Writer's Workshop
  • Experience with differentiation of instruction
  • Collaborative work style
  • Experience with thematic unit planning and teaching

DATES:            As Needed:            Planning and preparation

              July 15-16:             Site Preparation and Planning session (8am 12pm)

              July 20 Aug 6:     8:00am 11:30am Summer School 

              August 6:                Wrap-up Session (11:30pm 12:30pm)

LOCATION:   Brockport Central School District

                       Hill School

Responsibilities:  The ELL Summer Learning School will provide literacy instruction for current K-6 ELL students residing in the Brockport, Churchville, Hilton, Kendall, Holley, Wheatland-Chil Districts.  The ELL summer school teachers will provide whole and small group literacy instruction to ELL students attending the program. Instruction will be theme based and differentiated.   

SALARY:          $2,646
