Job description

Montessori Elementary Assistant Teacher - Full Time
Montessori Academy of Upland is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Elementary Assistant Teacher to join our team. The person selected for this position will assist the lead classroom teacher with the general supervision, instruction, and management of elementary-aged children in a Montessori environment.
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:15 AM-5:15 PM
Job Type: Full-time
Work Location: In person - Upland, CA
Qualifications
  • Must have at least 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units or units in an adjacent field of study
  • At least 1 year of experience working with elementary-aged children required
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Montessori experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate
  • Must have current CPR/First Aid certification or be willing to obtain certification
  • Must be dependable, patient, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Must be able to meet all applicable school and childcare employment requirements
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting the lead teacher in planning and implementing the daily classroom program
  • Helping prepare the learning environment, classroom materials, activities, and supplies
  • Supporting students with lessons, independent work, and classroom routines
  • Supervising children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, outside play, and transitions
  • Encouraging independence, responsibility, respectful behavior, and positive social interactions
  • Treating all children with dignity, patience, and respect
  • Helping maintain a clean, safe, organized, and prepared classroom environment
  • Assisting with general classroom housekeeping tasks
  • Supporting the lead teacher in other appropriate classroom and school responsibilities
  • Attending staff meetings, required training programs, and professional development
  • Participating in parent meetings, open houses, school events, and classroom activities as needed
  • Communicating professionally and positively with students, families, and other staff members
