Sorenson Engineering is seeking candidates with experience inspecting products using quality plans and various metrologies including, concentricity gauges, drop gauges, pin gauges, OGP, Keyence, and VICI devices.
Summary:
Support and sustain the effectiveness of the Quality Management System. Plan, conduct, and report internal audits to ensure compliance with internal requirements and drive process improvements. Perform audits in alignment with AS9100 standards and Nadcap requirements, identifying opportunities for continual improvement and maintaining certifications. Additionally, provide support during customer and third-party audits as needed
Level II:
The Level II Auditor has an understanding of the fundamentals of AS9100 and Nadcap. Independently prepares clear, accurate, and well-organized audit reports and summaries; identifies nonconformances, risks, and opportunities for improvement; applies structured problem-solving tools to address internal and external audit nonconformances; and applies AS9100, Nadcap, Sorenson Engineering, and customer requirements with limited supervision.
Level III:
Building on Level II, the Level III Auditor trains and mentors junior auditors; provides technical guidance and support; leads internal audits and supports external, customer, AS9100, and Nadcap audits; effectively interfaces with external auditors and provides clear, accurate responses; and evaluates systemic risks and trends across the Quality Management System.
Level IV:
Building on Level III, the Level IV Auditor maintains, oversees, and continuously improves the Quality Audit Program to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness; prepares, analyzes, and presents strategic insights, risk assessments, and trend analyses for management review; and serves as a subject matter expert, advising leadership on Quality Management System performance, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives for Sorenson Engineering.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Demonstrates efficiency in Microsoft Office Products, ie. Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Possesses effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across all departments.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute internal audits to verify compliance with AS9100, Nadcap, internal procedures, and applicable customer, regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the Quality Management System and related processes.
  • Identify nonconformities, risks, and areas for improvement; work with process owners to ensure corrective actions are implemented and effective.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely audit reports in accordance with AS9100, Nadcap and company requirements.
  • Monitor and track audit findings and corrective actions to closure.
  • Collaborate with quality and operational teams to maintain readiness for third party and customer audits.
  • Ensure the audit program itself complies with AS9100 Internal Audits Clause and supports continual improvement.
  • Assist Quality Engineers in root cause analysis and risk-based thinking across departments
  • Provide audit results and trend insights to top management for Management Review.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of AS9100 and Nadcap revisions, industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Lead preparations for AS9100/Nadcap Audits and interface with auditors during on-site reviews.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-department communication skills.
  • Understanding of AS9100 and Nadcap requirements.
  • Knowledge of Sorenson Engineering and customer-specific requirements.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Two years of on-the-job audit experience may be used in lieu of college education.
Strong analytical abilities, with excellent documentation and communication skills.
Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively across functions
Practical experience using quality tools, including root cause analysis, corrective action processes, risk management, and process auditing
Physical Demands:
Must be able to constantly walk through various production areas within the plant, possess good eyesight and hand dexterity, and accurately identify and distinguish colors. Must also be able to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
Work Environment:Will be exposed to noise, moving mechanical parts, oils/solvents, fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat and/or skin.
