About The Opportunity
Provide EPP support to the Prepress Department by preparing graphic files for production.
The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties, however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Duties:
    • Demonstrates commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrates commitment to quality and performs job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines.
    • Should be aware of their responsibilities and their accountability is clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems.
    • Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements.
    • Create and manipulate MAC & PC files with several different Graphic Design programs.
    • Work with the Macintosh platforms utilizing Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design and Acrobat PDF files.
    • Pre-flight documents according to printing standards and make necessary adjustments to all types of files to ready them for print and digital reproduction.
    • Interact with customer service, external customers and other business leaders regarding the status of jobs and in problem-solving scenarios.
    • Must be able to function in highly technical, team environment under high stress, tight deadlines and interruptions.
    • Learn new equipment and procedures quickly and easily pass on this knowledge to others.
    • Apply knowledge of imposition, color separation and trapping for press.
    • Coordinate Press Oks, work with press operators to manage projects without guidance.
    • Create mylar dieline layouts.
    • Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements.
    • Actively participates in Lean manufacturing initiatives.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Certification:
    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Formal post-secondary graphic communications training in the various types of computer software used in Electronic Prepress.

Work Experience:
    • Minimum of two years' experience in the Graphics trade.
    • Offset and/or Flexographic printing experience.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
    • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business.
    • Software knowledge of Artwork Systems - Nexus Edit, Insight, and Power Stepper and/or Esko Artwork- Backstage/DeskPack is considered an asset.
    • Experience with the Macintosh platform utilizing Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop and In-Design files.
    • Ability to interact with external customers to solve graphics problems and troubleshoot art files. Demonstrates skill in application of separating and stepping electronic art.
    • Ability to effectively work in teams.
    • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people.
    • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles.
