Responsibilities:
  • Provide skilled electrical maintenance support to proactively identify and prevent failure points in operations equipment by interpreting operator feedback and understanding machine status indications and electrical control functions to recommend action.
  • Maintain, test, and repair a diverse array of electrical systems and components, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, Power Distribution, Variable Frequency Drives, controllers, relays, contactors, amplifiers, transformers, fuses, and other similar systems.
  • Read, interpret, correct, and communicate to maintain electrical drawings and diagrams as needed in the execution of daily tasks.
  • Contribute to improving our maintenance management system through Root Cause Analysis and resolving errors that occur with a proactive and preventive mindset.
  • Collaborate as a multidisciplinary team member with mechanical, process, and reliability colleagues to prioritize and focus tasks and investments to meet our operational needs and initiatives for a dedicated area of the plant.
  • Support and engage in our ISO/TS quality management by maintaining and improving sensor data and controls equipment and ensure performance for critical to quality monitoring functions.
  • Assist engineering in the design, installation, start up, shut down, and planned maintenance of new or modified equipment in accordance with US and Freudenberg safety procedures and standards.
  • Evaluate existing equipment safety system robustness and improve to ensure they are maintained and operating at appropriate performance levels per ISO standards.
  • Maintain high standards for workmanship and housekeeping before, during, and after work, and contribute to cleanliness and 5S adherence in shared areas.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of electrical technical support experience working in an industrial environment, prior experience in extrusion, plastics, and web handling or winding is a plus
  • A two-year technical degree in Industrial Systems, Electrical/Electronics Technology, or related field is preferred. Certificates in Electrical Systems, PLCs, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, or Industrial Maintenance are beneficial and will elevate the candidate's profile.
  • CCST (Certified Control System Technician) Level I or desire and ability to obtain with company support is preferred.
  • PLC, HMI, and VFD experience is required. GE/Emerson and Siemens PLC experience is preferred. Should demonstrate proficiency in PLC Ladder Logic interpretation and alteration, Function Block Diagrams, and Statement Lists (STL).
  • Understanding of Profibus, Profinet, Remote I/O communication, Serial communication, and Ethernet communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, test, and troubleshoot failures in electrical hardware.
  • Good communications skills, both verbal and written, and ability to collaborate effectively with team members of varying levels of technical experience.
  • Ability to work overtime or non-regular hours when needed to support 24/7 operations.
  • Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck and Arial Lift Equipment certifications on site.
