Job description

Electronics Assembler
Danbury, CT | Full-Time | On-Site (7:00 am - 3:30 pm)
About the Role
AB Electronics is always looking for talented Electronics Assemblers to join our team. If you're detail-oriented, hands-on, and want to be part of a company that values craftsmanship and teamwork, we'd like to hear from you. This role covers a range of assembly work - from printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) to cable/harness builds and full box builds - depending on production needs.
What You'll Do
  • Read work instructions, wiring diagrams, and samples to determine assembly steps.
  • Install components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, connectors, and integrated circuits.
  • Perform hand soldering on through-hole and surface-mount components per IPC standards.
  • Assemble cable/harness builds and complete box-build assemblies, following wiring diagrams and verbal instructions.
  • Use precision hand tools to trim, clinch, secure, and terminate component leads and wires.
  • Apply protective materials (heat-shrink, sealants, masking compounds) as needed.
  • Conduct visual inspections and rework to meet IPC quality standards.

What You Bring
  • Hands-on experience in electronics assembly (PCBA, cable/harness, or box build).
  • Ability to read and carefully follow routing sheets, work instructions, and wiring diagrams written in English.
  • Team-oriented and dependable, with strong attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills to enter production data and pull up work instructions on a shop-floor terminal.

What Will Set You Apart
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 standards (certification a plus).
  • Prior experience in an ISO 9001 / AS9100 electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using FactoryLogix or a similar MES.
  • Knowledge of basic electronic components and polarity markings.

Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods; frequently required to use hand tools, solder small components, and perform repetitive fine motor tasks; close visual acuity required for detailed assembly work; occasionally required to lift up to 20 lbs.
