Job description

Work Eligibility:  Must be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent lawful resident of the U.S.

Summary:

The Applications Engineer will be a skilled marine technical expert that will work closely with our engineering team and customers. They will manage our Complete Controls line, ensuring seamless integration on world-class vessels.

Preferred Educational Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

 

Preferred Work Experience:

Marine Systems Expert – 5+ years’ experience with propulsion/electronic controls for major OEMs (Cummins, Cat, Volvo Penta, etc.). Previous Marine electrical expertise.

 

Essential Functions:

Technical Support & Sales Liaison:

  •       Assisting with customer inquiries by recommending the correct product configuration and system layout for specific vessel/engine applications.
  •       Collaborating on technical aspects of quotes and orders, ensuring accurate system specifications are entered into the company ERP system.
  •       Compiling, organizing, and maintaining comprehensive technical data sets, including engine make/model compatibility lists, harness requirements, connectors, pinouts, and interface details to support engineering drawings and customer installations.
  •       Identifying opportunities for minor hardware/software modifications and communicating requirements clearly to the engineering team.
  •       As required, provide limited on-site technical support to customers, dealers, or OEMs (boatbuilders) and participate in selected trade shows (approximately 2–3 per year) to deliver technical training or application expertise.

Documentation and Compliance:

  •       Technical manuals and installation guides.
  •       Troubleshooting documents.
  •       DVTP (Design Verification Test Procedure) documents.
  •       USCG Type T and K compliance documentation.
  •       Other customer- and internal-facing resources.
  •       Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and up to date to support installers, dealers, and end-users.

QA & Troubleshooting:

  • Participation in technical investigations of returned products, root-cause analysis, and recommendations for product improvements or enhancements.
  • Provide advanced technical troubleshooting support to customers, dealers, and installers during and after product installation, including coordination with the engineering team when field issues require deeper investigation or resolution.

New Products:

  • Help contribute to product extensions, improvements, or new marine control system solutions to the embedded software, mechanical, and test engineering teams.

Non-Essential Functions:
