Description

Delta Electronics Manufacturing Corporation, located in Beverly, MA, is a leading global designer and manufacturer of precision Radio Frequency (RF), microwave, and millimeter-wave interconnect solutions. For over 60 years, Delta has supplied high-reliability components to the aerospace, defense, telecommunications, test & measurement, and medical industries. We are committed to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional quality to our customers.

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Supply Chain Manager oversees end-to-end supply chain strategies and operations for our Beverly manufacturing facility. This strategic leadership role spans procurement, material planning, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and supplier management. Working closely with executive leadership, the ideal candidate will optimize inventory levels, strengthen vendor partnerships, ensure ITAR/FAR compliance, and align material flow with broader corporate operations and production schedules.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Executive Alignment

  • Partner directly with the COO and executive management to align supply chain strategies with overarching business growth, cash flow, and operational goals.
  • Lead and mentor the purchasing, planning, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and logistics teams.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (Inventory Turns, On-Time Delivery, PPV, Backlog) and present operational reviews and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Lead global and domestic sourcing initiatives, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and pricing agreements.
  • Establish key supplier metrics (OTD, quality rejection rates, lead times) and drive supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) to maintain high-precision quality standards.
  • Oversee critical raw material procurement, including specialized metals, plating services, and electronic components.
  • Experience in sourcing and qualifying suppliers for precision machined components, both domestically and internationally, for use in commercial and defense markets.

Materials Planning & Inventory Control

  • Collaborate with Production, Sales, and Engineering to maintain master production schedules (MPS) aligned with customer lead times.
  • Leverage ERP/MRP systems to manage material requirements planning, work order releases, and safety stock levels.
  • Drive cycle counting, audit controls, and physical inventory processes to maintain standard-setting inventory accuracy.

Logistics & Regulatory Compliance

  • Oversee site warehousing, shipping, and receiving operations to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant material flow.
  • Ensure full compliance with defense trade controls, including ITAR, EAR, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and international trade regulations.

Continuous Improvement

  • Champion Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools to minimize shop-floor bottlenecks, drop holding costs, and lower total cost of ownership (TCO).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive supply chain experience in a high-mix manufacturing environment (RF/microwave, precision electronics, or aerospace/defense strongly preferred).
  • Leadership: 3+ years of experience in a direct supervisory or management role.
  • Systems Expertise: Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP experience preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Compliance: Solid understanding of defense manufacturing regulatory frameworks, including ITAR, EAR, and DFARS sourcing rules.
  • Certifications: APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or Lean Six Sigma certification highly desirable.
  • Citizenship: Due to ITAR requirements, US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status is required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Fast-paced, on-site manufacturing plant environment.
  • Time split between standard executive office setting, active floor management, and warehouse areas.
