Electronic Technicians are responsible for the maintenance, inspection, installation, and repair of security systems, fire alarm systems, public address (PA) systems, CCTV, and sprinkler control systems at all EPA-RTP facilities. All personnel must comply with North Carolina Private Protection Services Board licensure requirements. Responsibilities Inspect, maintain, and repair electronic intrusion alarm systems and security equipment at all EPA-RTP locationsPerform maintenance on CCTV/camera systems, intercoms, pop-up bollards, wedges, automatic gates, drop-arm gates, duress stations, and ePACS access control systemsRespond to emergency security system failures within one (1) hour of notification on a 24/7/365 basis, regardless of weather conditionsConfigure and install security equipment and systems required by security auditsProgram security equipment and systems as necessary to support EPA security operationsReview video recordings as required for security incident investigationsPerform monthly security system inspections including voltage checks, circuitry checks, and minor repairsPerform preventive maintenance and repair on PA systems and applicable fire alarm and sprinkler control system componentsDocument all maintenance activities and service calls in the CMMSEnsure compliance with the NC Private Protection Services Board for all security system workPosition Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience working with security systems, fire alarm systems, PA systems, and sprinkler control systems in commercial facilitiesAll personnel involved with security systems must be licensed by the State of North Carolina per the NC Private Protection Services Board (required)At minimum one individual must be bondableAt minimum one individual must possess a State of North Carolina Security Alarm LicenseFamiliarity with ePACS/HSPD-12 compliant access control systems preferredAbility to read and interpret electronic systems wiring diagrams and as-built drawings
