We have an exciting opportunity for a Electronic Component Engineer to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. If selected you will: Work as a Team Lead with associated Electronics Component Engineers supporting several NASA projects and programs.Report directly to the Electronics and Electrical Section Manager as part of group of 50 other Electronics and Electrical Engineers.Provide Electrical, Electronic and Electromagnetic (EEE) parts support to NASA GFE Flight Projects and NASA Programs.Evaluate proposed EEE Parts lists with respect to the projects specific hardware criticality and environments.Report on the manufacturers, materials, construction, usage (environment & electrical de-rating), and overall reliability of the selected parts to the EEE parts control board (PCB).Recommend replacement EEE parts.Assist in EEE parts failure investigations.Review Military and industry EEE parts specifications, standards and studies for application to NASA programs.Assist in the development of EEE part qualification plans, project specific screening requirements, and Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPAR).Work in a laboratory environment as required, following standard operating procedures.Perform other duties as required and assigned.Qualifications: This position has been posted at multiple levels.
