Engineering Technician – Electronics (Soldering Specialist)

Location: 10990 Wilshire Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90024– 100% Onsite
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $33/hr on W2

Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Technician – Electronics/Soldering Specialist to support prototype assembly, PCB rework, soldering, testing, and engineering development activities. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SMT rework, fine-pitch soldering, PCB modifications, and electronic assembly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform precision SMT soldering and PCB rework, including 0201 components.
  • Replace and modify electronic components and perform PCB trace/jumper modifications.
  • Build and modify wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
  • Assemble and modify electronic/electro-mechanical prototypes.
  • Read schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, and rework instructions.
  • Use microscopes, soldering stations, rework stations, DMMs, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • Support engineering testing, troubleshooting, validation, and documentation.
  • Work closely with Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 5+ years of hands-on PCB soldering and electronic assembly experience.
  • Strong SMT rework and fine-pitch soldering experience.
  • Experience reworking 0201 components under a microscope.
  • Experience with lead-free soldering.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, BOMs, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with PCB modifications, jumper wires, and troubleshooting.
  • Current IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification required.
  • Must be able to work onsite and lift up to 25 lbs.

Preferred:

  • 0.4mm pitch BGA rework experience.
  • R&D/prototype development experience.
  • Aerospace, defense, communications, or advanced electronics experience.
  • Basic RF, thermal, or environmental testing experience.
