Job description

  • Develop architectures and analyze requirements for RF and microwave systems
  • Design RF hardware and perform hands-on testing of components, circuit card assemblies, and subsystems
  • Design and develop transmitters, receivers, and exciters
  • Design and optimize RF circuits, including receiver and exciter chains and individual components such as filters, limiters, and couplers
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary power, digital, mechanical, and other teams
  • Perform schematic capture and RF routing
  • Provide technical support during transition to production and production activities
  • Manage cost and schedule and write proposals
  • Travel between multiple Massachusetts sites as needed
Requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with microwave/RF system, subsystem, and/or component analysis, design, and/or test
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, and/or Mentor Graphicsโ€™ Xpedition
  • Experience with analytical tools such as MATLAB
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience working in design from concept through production preferred
  • Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications preferred
  • Background in design for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, including yield and margin analysis preferred
  • Experience in technical writing and oral presentations preferred
  • Technical background in cascade analysis/frequency planning, filter design and fabrication, circuit card assembly and fabrication, high-speed data converter testing/characterization, or low-noise RF source design and testing preferred
  • Active/existing Secret U.S. security clearance preferred

Demonstrates expertise in RF and microwave system design, analysis, and testing, with a strong focus on hardware development and production transition. Proficient in using electromagnetic simulation and analytical tools to optimize circuit performance while managing cost and schedule constraints.
