Job description

Amentum is seeking an Electrician for multiple OCONUS locations contingent upon award. The Electrician is responsible for maintaining, installing, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in accordance with safety standards and regulations. The role requires expertise in electrical maintenance and construction, as well as leadership skills to supervise and work effectively with a team. The Electrician will work closely with customers and subordinates to ensure efficient and safe electrical operations.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical maintenance and installation tasks, ensuring all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations.
  • Supervise and lead a team of electricians, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Conduct battery maintenance and installation, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to accurately perform material take-offs and plan installations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members to address electrical issues and provide solutions.
  • Maintain a record of safe practices and ensure all team members follow safety protocols.
  • Obtain and maintain required security clearances as per contract specifications.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent; graduates of technical, vocational, or trade schools in the electrical trade are preferred.
  • Certification: Must hold a certification as a Master Electrician in a CONUS jurisdiction and possess appropriate state and local licenses.
  • Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years in the electrical trade, with experience in maintenance or construction. Must have held a supervisory position for at least two (2) years.
  • Skills:
    • Thorough knowledge of electrical equipment maintenance.
    • Ability to read blueprints and perform material take-offs.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Familiarity with safety standards for electrical equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance at the start of the contract and a TS access within eight (8) months of contract award.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands
The position requires working in various environments, which may include outdoor or confined spaces, and sometimes in adverse weather conditions. The role may involve physical activities such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Mentally, the Electrician must be able to work under pressure, solve complex problems, and manage multiple tasks efficiently. The ability to maintain composure and professionalism in all situations is essential. Security clearances, which are site-specific, are required, and the individual must obtain the necessary clearance within eight (8) months of contract award.
