Job description


The Maintenance Electrician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility by performing electrical maintenance tasks, troubleshooting electrical issues, and implementing preventative maintenance measures. The Maintenance Electrician will be instrumental in maintaining production uptime and quality by ensuring efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
Duties
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing electrical preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment, including motors, generators, transformers, and electrical control systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and repair or replace defective components as needed
  • Install new electrical systems and equipment according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to address mechanical and electrical issues that may arise.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Assist with developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or vocational training in electrical maintenance preferred
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Electrician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the metal industry
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and wiring diagrams
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical issues and performing repairs
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow documented process instructions working independently as well as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good time management skills
