Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates and takeoffs for electrical construction projects
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, and blueprints
  • Utilize estimating software (e.g., Accubid) to prepare proposals and bids
  • Manage pricing from vendors and subcontractors, ensuring competitive and complete bid packages
  • Understand project scope and identify risks, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to align estimate strategy and execution
  • Track awarded project statistics and ensure timely completion of all bids
  • Maintain and build strong vendor and subcontractor relationships
  • Assist in training junior team members or assistants when needed


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of electrical construction or estimating experience required
  • Associate's Degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of NEC, commercial, and industrial electrical systems
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans and electrical one-line diagrams
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and driven to win competitive bids
  • Familiar with construction sequencing and scheduling logic
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and estimating software such as Accubid
  • Motivated, team-oriented professional with excellent communication skills
  • NC Electrical License is a plus
  • Valid driverโ€™s license required
  • Experience with drafting, preparing project manuals, generating quotes, developing bids, and conducting project-related research
  • Strong office and administrative skills
  • Electrical estimating experience, including the use of electrical estimating software
  • Proficiency with Accubid or similar estimating platforms
