Job description

Within SSOE’s Advanced Technology division, we specialize in high-tech facility design, offering top-tier design and engineering services to a diverse array of clients and markets. Our team is composed of highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals who excel across various disciplines. We pride ourselves on our cross-disciplinary approach, which allows us to understand and address our clients' needs more comprehensively than traditional, siloed methods. What sets us apart is our ability to seamlessly conceptualize, plan, and detail every aspect of design. Our in-house experts collaborate closely, optimizing and enhancing our work through multi-discipline strategy sessions. By leveraging cutting-edge techniques and state-of-the-art software, we deliver industry-leading technology and innovative solutions from day one.

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will engage in the designing, developing, and implementing of cutting-edge electrical systems for state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities serving global leaders in technology. As an Electrical Engineer at SSOE, you will have a foundation in electrical engineering, focusing on low to medium voltage environments. The ideal candidate possesses experience with distribution panel loading, short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, conduit and conductor sizing, and cable tray fills. Join us in shaping innovative design-build projects with a relentless commitment to quality, efficiency, and collaborative excellence.

At SSOE, we don’t just talk about the future, we build it. As a leader in industry AI adoption, we empower our team to work smarter by providing responsible access to the industry leading AI Large Language Models, vibe-coding platforms, and securely integrating advanced tools into every role. From day one, you’ll receive the training and support needed to leverage AI as a core tool for enhancing productivity, sparking creativity, and streamlining complex workflows.

  • Generate comprehensive technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models aligned with both industry standards, client requirements, and electrical engineering best practices.
  • Determine conduit and conductor sizing, meticulously accounting for current loads and environmental variables.
  • Assess cable tray fills methodically to guarantee proper cable management, organization, and future scalability.
  • Perform detailed short circuit calculations to accurately determine fault currents, select appropriate protective devices, and ensure system safety.
  • Perform precise voltage drop calculations to ensure electrical system stability and compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure all electrical designs rigorously comply with and exceed local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations to guarantee safety and quality.
  • Apply established design techniques and exercises discernment in adapting and modifying design concepts as needed. Uphold quality control by adhering to company and team design and CAD standards.
  • Will work with Sr. Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features, and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
  • Foster collaboration, communication, strategy, and support within your team, multidisciplinary groups (Electrical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.), and inter-company teams to optimize efficiency, quality, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct field verifications and site walks to identify, validate, resolve, and integrate solutions into design packages. Resolve design issues on-site during construction if necessary.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, qualifying candidate for professional engineering licensure in Arizona.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who hold a Professional Engineering (PE) license. This credential may qualify candidates for the higher end of the salary range, depending on experience and overall qualifications.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) exam, with a focus on electrical engineering principles, is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design drafting is required. Experience with other tools such as Revit, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, and/or EasyPower is a plus.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., National Electric Code, NFPA, etc.).
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information and design concepts to project managers, contractors, and cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $135,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position. Opportunity for ample rewards and leadership incentive/bonus program
  • Benefits: Includes comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401K retirement savings plan (with company matching), opportunities for professional development and training (including support for relevant licensure & certifications), and generous PTO & paid holidays.
